Appearance
Settings is where you decide how the app looks, which language it speaks, which scores it hides, when it reminds you and which streaming services you have. Open it with Settings at the bottom of the menu.

Every change is saved the moment you make it. There is no save button.
Under Appearance you choose between a light and a dark look:
- System follows the setting of your phone or computer, and switches along with it, for example at sunset. This is the default.
- Light is always light.
- Dark is always dark.
The line below says what you get, for example Following this device · currently dark or Light on this device only.
Appearance is stored on this device only, not on your account. So your phone can stay dark while your computer stays light. Most other settings belong to your account and are the same on every device you sign in on. Language belongs to your account as well; the device keeps a copy too, so that even the sign-in screen appears in your language (see Language).

Language
The Season Planner comes in English and in German. Under Language you choose which one the app uses.

- English: the app appears in English.
- Deutsch: the app appears in German, with German day and month names and kickoff times in MEZ or MESZ (the German names for CET and CEST), for example “19:00 MESZ · 13:00 ET”.
Each option is labelled in its own language, so you can find it even if you cannot read the language currently shown.
The app switches at once, without reloading. The first time you open it, it follows the language of your browser.
The language is not only for the app: your reminders and the Friday email digest are written in it too, from the next reminder or email on.
The language is stored on your account, and on this device as well. When you sign in on a new device, it takes the language of your account, even if its browser is set to another language.
The EN / DE switch at the top of the help panel does the same: it changes the language of the help, the app, your reminders and the email. See Help.
Hide scores
If you often watch games hours after they finished, a score on the screen can spoil the game for you. Hide scores keeps results out of sight until you want to see them.

- Show all: every score is visible. This is the default.
- Watchlist: scores are hidden for the games you starred, the ones you mean to watch later. All other scores stay visible.
- Everything: every score is hidden, everywhere.
A hidden score shows as three dots. Tap it to see the score for the moment; next time it is hidden again. A game you have marked as watched is never hidden, since there is nothing left to spoil.
More about this in Hiding scores.
Default for new games
Each starred game can remind you before it starts. Default for new games decides which reminders a game gets at the moment you star it, so you do not have to set them every time.
- One hour before kickoff: enough warning to get the stream on. On by default.
- At kickoff: arrives the moment the game starts. Off by default.
Turn both on to be reminded twice, or both off to star games without reminders.
These are only defaults. You can change the reminders on any game afterwards, and changing them here does not alter games you have already starred. See Reminders for one game.
Delivery
Delivery decides how and when reminders reach you: whether they respect your night’s sleep, which device they go to, and whether you also get an email. Reminders and the email come in the language you chose under Language.

Quiet hours
Many NFL games kick off in the middle of the night in Germany. Quiet hours stop reminders from waking you.
- Respect quiet hours is on by default, from 01:00 to 07:00.
- Under From and Until you set your own times. The window may run across midnight, for example from 23:00 to 05:00.
- Start and end must differ. If they are the same, the app shows Quiet hours must start and end at different times. and keeps the previous times.
- While the switch is off, the times cannot be changed, and reminders arrive at any time of day.
A reminder that falls into quiet hours is skipped, not sent later. If you want to be woken for a particular night game, choose Remind anyway on that game. See Remind anyway.
Push to this device
Push to this device sends reminders as notifications to the phone or computer you are using, even when the app is closed.
Each device is switched on separately. Switching it off on one device does not silence your others.
- Switch on Push to this device.
- Your device asks whether the Season Planner may send notifications. Allow it.
The text under the switch tells you the state of this device:
| Text | What it means |
|---|---|
| This device gets a notification before the games you starred, even with the app closed. | Reminders arrive here. |
| Turn on to get reminders here. Each phone and computer is switched on separately. | Not switched on yet on this device. |
| On iPhone, add this app to the home screen and open it from there … | Install the app first (see Install the app). |
| Notifications are blocked for this site. Allow notifications for this site in your browser settings — on an iPhone, under Settings → Notifications → Season Planner. | You refused notifications earlier. Only your device’s settings can undo that. |
| This browser does not support web push. | Use another browser or device for reminders. |
If switching on fails, a red line below the switch says why, for example “This browser could not set up notifications. Try again in a moment.” If something does not work, see Troubleshooting.
Email digest
Email digest, Friday sends you one message on Fridays with the weekend’s games you have starred, up to Monday night. It is off by default. It does not send reminders; those come only by push. See Email digest.
Streaming services
The app tells you on each game card where you can watch the game in Germany. For that it needs to know which streaming services you pay for.

Tap a service to select it; it turns red. Tap it again to deselect it. The choices are DAZN NFL Game Pass, DAZN NCAA, Sky / WOW and RTL+.
The two DAZN services decide most games. Sky / WOW and RTL+ only count when the German TV guide lists a game on them, and at the moment the guide the app reads lists only RTL and NITRO, so these two rarely change anything.
At first no service is selected. Then every game that needs a subscription is marked as not in your plan, which is the honest starting point.
Free TV channels such as RTL and NITRO are not in the list, because they need no subscription. How the app decides what to show is explained in The stream line.
