Signing in
When signing in does not work, the sign-in screen says why. Find the message below to see what to do.
Wherever this page says to ask the admin, write to dev@gdc-world.de.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Incorrect e-mail or password. | Check both and try again. If you have forgotten the password, tap Forgot password. |
| Please verify your e-mail before signing in. | Open the message the GDC Tools Manager sent when you registered and follow its link. Then sign in again. After 48 hours without confirmation the account is deleted; simply register again. |
| You have not requested access to the Travel Planner yet. | Tap Request access below the message. My tools opens in the GDC Tools Manager with the Travel Planner at the top; one click sends the request. |
| Your access is awaiting admin approval. | Your request waits for an admin. You get an e-mail once it is decided. If it takes long, ask the admin. |
| Your access request was declined. You can request it again. | Tap Request again below the message. It opens My tools in the GDC Tools Manager. |
| Your login is not linked to a household yet, so there is nowhere to keep your trips. Ask a GDC admin to assign you one. | Ask the admin to add you to your household. |
| Could not reach the sign-in service. Check your connection. | Check that the device is online, then try again. |
| This tool is not registered. Check its configuration. | The app is set up incorrectly. Tell the admin. |
| Sign-in is not configured for this deployment. | Shown above Sign in, which then cannot be tapped. The app is set up incorrectly. Tell the admin. |
| Something went wrong. | Try again in a moment. If it keeps happening, tell the admin. |
How accounts and approval work is explained in Getting started.
Session ended
You normally stay signed in. If your session has ended, for example because an admin changed your access, the sign-in screen appears. Just before, a screen may say Your session has ended. Please sign in again.
Sign in again with your e-mail and password. Whatever was saved before is still there; only a change you were making at that moment may need to be repeated.
If the app says Could not check your sign-in just now. Please try again in a moment., your session has not necessarily ended: the check did not get through. Wait a moment and try again.
Someone else changed the trip
The message Someone else changed this trip means another member of your household saved a change to the same trip while you were working on it. Nothing is broken, and nothing of theirs has been lost.
Choose Keep theirs or, where offered, Apply mine again. What both do is explained in Using the app.
To make this rarer, pull down at the top of the screen to refresh before you start larger changes, see Using the app.
A stop is missing from the map
The route map places each stop by its position. Positions are looked up from the stop’s name when you add or rename it. If the name is ambiguous or unknown, no position is found, and the map lists the stop below it: Not on the map, because no position was found: followed by the names.
If no stop at all has a position, the map shows nothing and says so instead, pointing you to Edit on the Schedule (see below). The same note about missing stops also appears under the map in the presentation.
If the map says The coastlines could not be loaded, so only the route is drawn., all stops are there; only the background is missing. Refresh later.
To place a stop by hand:
- Open the trip’s Schedule.
- Tap the pencil (Edit) on the stop’s row.
- Under Position on the map, enter both Latitude and Longitude, for example copied from a map app. Tap Save.
Renaming the stop with a clearer name, for example including the country, and leaving the position empty also starts a new search. The same fields let you correct a stop that was placed in the wrong spot.
Enter both values or neither. Otherwise the app says A position needs both a latitude and a longitude, or neither.

Saving or deleting fails
When the app cannot save or delete something, it tells you, and nothing is half-done.
- Could not save this. Your change was not saved. Check your connection and try again.
- Could not delete this — it is still there. The deletion failed, and the item is back on the screen. Try again later.
- Could not reach the Travel Planner. Check your connection. The device could not reach the app, for example because it was offline while saving. Try again once you are online.
- That did not work. Please try again. Something went wrong on the server’s side. Try again in a moment.
- The help could not be loaded. Check your connection and try again. Open it again once you are online.
Some messages come straight from the server and name the problem, for example a field that is missing. Correct it and save again.
If a problem keeps coming back, tell the admin what you did and which message you saw.
